One of the best catfish dinners ever. The fish is crisp and flakey. The catfish has a clean taste not dirty as some others. The coleslaw and hushpuppys are excellent. Usually packed around lunch every day. Service is friendly and very organized. Can't wait to return.

We visited Little Libby's yesterday after wanting to try it out for a while.  We found ourselves in the Madison area and figured why not give it a go!  It was pretty busy for a Monday at around 12:15.

We were seated quickly.  It very much looks and feels like what it is: country cooking.  Lots of Alabama and Auburn sports memorabilia on the walls, some wooden boards with funny sayings, the usual stuff you'd expect at a place like this.  It seemed like everybody knew everybody, with multiple waitresses greeting customers by name, and many patrons stopping at the tables of others to catch up.  That's always a neat experience.

The service we received was friendly and professional.  Generous, too.  She let us choose if we wanted hush puppies, rolls, or cornbread for the table, and when we couldn't agree, she brought us a little of both of what we asked for.  The hush puppies were crunchy and savory, and the rolls were warm and soft.  The butter spread was the sort of sweet, oily, prepackaged kind.

I opted for a vegetable plate, and my boyfriend got the 2 catfish fillet meal.  The portion sizes are HUGE.  Boyfriend is a big guy and easily would've been full off of one fillet.  His dish came with fries, MORE hush puppies, slaw, and a slice of cake.  We didn't realize dessert came with meals, but that was nice.  He said the slaw was too sweet and mushy.  The French fries were okay, very hot, not super crispy or salty.  The catfish was good.  Not the best he'd ever had (nor I), but crunchy, tender, and not particularly fishy tasting.  His meal was pretty solid, worthy of maybe 3.5/5.

Mine was a good bit more disappointing.  I had fried okra, black eyed peas, macaroni and cheese, and whole kernel corn.  The corn was out of a can - no flavor except a vague saltiness.  The macaroni and cheese was, if you can believe it, too cheesy.  It tasted like straight velveeta, which may work for some people, but tasted overwhelmingly like fake cheese to me, which was a no.  The black eyed peas were alright.  A little over cooked, but the flavor was good.  Fried okra was definitely the best dish.  Again, not the best I've ever had, but fresh tasting, hot and crispy.

The cake was just okay.  It was a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing.  The icing was cloyingly sweet, but the cake was relatively moist, and the fact that it was free means I really can't complain too much, haha.

Overall, I didn't have a bad experience here, but I likely wouldn't return due to the fact that there are similar, better places to visit.

I stopped in for lunch at Libby's; this place has been here forever under different names.  It is know as a meat+3 kind of place.  I ordered the meat loaf, mac & cheese, baked beans, and mashed potatoes.  Meals are served with a dessert; today was a sheet cake with chocolate icing.  The food was average, nothing fantastic.  The meat loaf was cold and concerned me about the holding temps back in the kitchen.

One of my favorite meals is fried catfish- oh yeah! Based on the Yelp reviews the expectations were high.

I was greeted and seated as soon as I walked in the place. Everyone I met during my visit was super nice. I didn't get the name of my waitress but she did a fine job.

Now for the food, I ordered the catfish combo - options - two filets or whole catfish, another meat, and two sides. I went with filets, oysters (4), fried okra & fries. First, this was a lot of food. The filets alone are a meal. The fries were old. They tasted like they had been under a heat lamp for a while.  They weren't cold but close. Especially compared to everything else. Everything else was so hot I had to let it cool. The okra - standard garden variety out of the bag okra. The fish and oysters - did not have a fishy taste. However, a personal preference of mine - I prefer light breading on most anything but especially fish. This was not light breading. The oysters were ok but the breading was hard. Honestly, not a favorite. The filets also ok but I didn't care for the breading.

In summary, I wasn't a huge fan but it's more from personal preference of not liking the breading than the actual food.  I do recommend this place. I actually overheard some other guests saying how good their food was. I really think you should at least try it.

I was excited to try this place because of the reviews and I was shocked at how terrible it was. None of the food had ANY flavor. Everything is fried, which is fine but neither the batter on the okra or catfish had any seasoning on it. It was one of the most disappointing meals I've ever had. Completely flavorless.
